The things people ask most, answered briefly, with a link to the detail.
Do I need internet?
No. Everything works offline. Internet is only used for optional backup and sync, and for the ads on Android.
Do I have to sign in?
No. Businessly works completely without an account. Signing in adds cloud backup and lets you use the same book on more than one device. See Signing in.
Do I need a Gmail account?
No. You can sign in with any email — Outlook, Yahoo, a work address. Businessly emails you a code; there is no password.
Google sign-in still works, and using the same address means the same book.
What do lena and dena mean?
Lena is money you will receive — a customer's udhaar. Dena is money you will pay — what you owe a supplier. See the Glossary.
I typed the wrong amount — what now?
Tap the entry and choose Edit, or Cancel entry to undo it. Nothing is silently deleted; a corrected entry keeps an edited tag you can tap to see the original. See Fixing a mistake.
Will an expense reduce my cash?
Only if Paid in cash now is on — which it is by default. Switch it off for a cost you have not settled yet. See Expenses.
Does Businessly create sample data?
No. Your book starts genuinely empty. The only thing added is a starter product list based on the shop type you chose — names and units, no prices, no stock.
Can I use it on my computer?
Yes, free on the Microsoft Store. Sign in with the same account and it syncs with your phone. See Installing on your PC.
Why don't my reminders work on the PC?
Because reminders are a phone feature. The settings screen works on Windows and even says a test was sent, but no notification will ever appear. See Phone & PC differences.
Can I scan a barcode?
No. There is no scanner on either platform — the barcode field is one you type or paste into.
How do I move to a new phone?
Sign in with the same account and your book syncs down. With no account, restore your backup file. See Backup & restore.
Is my data safe if I lose my phone?
If you were signed in, yes — restore it on the new phone. If you never signed in, only your own backup file can save it, so keep one somewhere safe.
Old devices are listed in my account — can I remove them?
Yes, from the Synced · 1 device pill on Home. Note that a device with the app still installed and signed in will reappear when it next syncs. See Managing your devices.
Can I get rid of the ads?
There is no purchase inside Businessly — no "remove ads" button and no paid tier. The Windows version has no ads at all. See Ads.
Can I track easy load and Easypaisa/JazzCash?
Yes — each provider keeps its own float, separate from your cash. See Easy load & wallet float.
What is the Zakat Book?
A private yearly worksheet for your own wealth, separate from any shop. See What the Zakat Book is.
How do I suggest a feature?
Settings → Suggest a feature. You need to be signed in so we can reply. See Suggest a feature.
How do I tell a friend about the app?
The share icon on Home, or Settings → Share app. It sends both the Play Store and Microsoft Store links.
