Keeping the app updated
How new versions reach you — which is genuinely different on Android and Windows.
You do not normally have to do anything. Both stores update the app in the background.
The Home card
When a newer version is out, Home shows Update available — A newer version of Businessly is available. — with Update and Later.
Update installs the new version inside the app. It downloads in the background and then offers Update downloaded — restart to install. You do not leave Businessly and you do not visit the Play Store.
If Play cannot serve it for any reason, the button falls back to opening the store listing.
Update opens the Microsoft Store listing, where you can install the new version. There is no in-app install on the PC.
Checking yourself
Settings → Check for updates does the same thing on demand.
This forces a check with Play rather than waiting for the daily one.
This opens the Microsoft Store page for Businessly.
Why the card exists at all
Why versions matter
Two devices on different versions still sync — but a device on an old build may not understand data created by a newer one. Businessly is built so that older versions degrade gracefully rather than breaking, but keeping devices roughly in step avoids confusion.
Your data is not affected
Updating never touches your book. Your ledger, settings and backups carry across untouched — an update replaces the app, not the data.
