Your first five minutes

What Businessly asks when you open it for the first time, and what it does with your answers.

The first time you open Businessly it asks one thing: how do you want to start?

You get three choices, and none of them are permanent.

Setting up your shop

Choose to go offline and Businessly asks two more things:

  1. Your Shop name — this is what appears at the top of the Home screen and on anything you export.
  2. What do you sell?Kirana / General, Super Store, Pharmacy, Bakery / Sweets, Mobile / Electronics, Stationery or Other.

Both can be changed later in Settings.

What the shop type actually does

Picking a type is not just a label. Businessly pre-fills your product catalogue with a starter list for that kind of shop — a pharmacy gets medicine categories, a kirana store gets grocery staples.

The screen tells you how many before you commit: pick Kirana / General and it says it will add 52 common products to get you started. Choose a different type and the number changes with it.

The starter products have names, categories and units, but no prices and no stock. You fill those in as you go, and you can delete any item you do not actually sell.

What happens next

You land on the Home screen with everything at zero. From there the fastest thing to do is record something real:

If you started offline and want backup later

Home shows a gentle card — Use on more phones + safe backup — with Sign in to cloud and Later. Tapping Later makes it go away; the option stays in Settings whenever you want it.
