Making it yours

WhatsApp message templates

The messages you send customers, written once in your own words and used everywhere.

Every WhatsApp reminder Businessly offers to send starts from a template. Edit it once and every reminder from then on uses your words.

SettingsWhatsApp messagesEdit the reminders you send to customers.

The four templates

Sent when
Balance reminder (to customer)Chasing an outstanding udhaar
Installment reminder (to customer)An installment is due
Guarantor reminderA plan has fallen behind and you contact the zamin
Bill / rent reminder (to payer)Rent or a bill is due from someone

Tokens

Tokens are filled in by the app when the message is sent. {name} becomes the person's name, {amount} becomes the figure.

Tap to insert: adds one without typing it, and there is a preview so you can see a finished example before you save.

Reset to default puts the original wording back.

Write them the way you speak

The defaults are deliberately neutral, because they have to work for everybody. Yours do not.

Nothing sends itself

Businessly never sends a message on its own. It opens WhatsApp with the message written, and you press send. You can edit any message before it goes.

On Android

WhatsApp opens directly with the message ready.

On Windows

Your browser opens WhatsApp Web. Sign in there once on that PC and it works the same way afterwards.

These are not phone reminders

Two different things share the word "reminder":

  • These templates are messages you send to customers, over WhatsApp
  • Reminders are notifications the app sends to you

The templates work on both platforms. The notifications are phone-only.
