Across the years

Every frozen year in one view — what was due, what you gave, and whether you are ahead or behind over the whole period.

One year tells you about one year. Across years puts them together, which is where the useful questions get answered.

What it shows

For the years you have frozen:

  • Zakat due over the same years — the total obligation
  • what you gave against it
  • Given beyond what was due if you are ahead
  • Still short over these years if you are behind

Only frozen years appear

A year has to be frozen to show up here. Until then you will see Freeze a year to see it here.

That is deliberate: an unfrozen year's total is still provisional, and averaging provisional numbers into a multi-year view would give you a figure that quietly changes.

See Freezing a year.

Both calendars

Years are labelled by both the Hijri year and its Gregorian span, because a Zakat year sits across two Gregorian years and you probably remember it by one or the other.

Filling in the past

If you kept Zakat records before you started using Businessly, you can enter those years too. Use Earlier year (pichlay saal)… when opening a year — it Starts empty — enter it from your old records rather than copying anything forward.
