Zakat Book

Pulling from your books

Your shops already know your cash, your udhaar and your stock. Rather than re-typing them, bring the figures across — as they stood on your Zakat day.

If you keep your shop in Businessly, a good part of your Zakat worksheet is already recorded. Pull from your books brings it across.

What comes across

From your books gathers:

  • cash in hand across your businesses
  • udhaar owed to you — money out with customers
  • stock, valued at cost
  • Loans you gave (qarz) and Loans you took

As it stood on the Zakat day

This is the part worth understanding. Businessly does not take today's figures. It replays your ledger to your Zakat day and takes the position as it was on that date.

Stock is at cost

Stock is valued at what you paid, not what you hope to sell it for.

It is a starting point, not an answer

Pulled figures land in the worksheet like anything else — as lines you still review.

What it will not do

It does not know about anything outside Businessly — your bank balance, gold, plots, committees. Those you enter yourself in the worksheet.

It also does not touch your shop's books. Pulling reads; it never writes.

If you do not use Businessly for your shop

The pull simply finds nothing, and you fill the worksheet in by hand. The Zakat Book works perfectly well on its own — plenty of people use it without keeping a shop ledger at all.
